Need a simple activity to do with your child or children on a weekend day? Maybe you don't have a lot of patience, creativity, or money for that matter, but there are still options for you. I found some ideas on this site. The one that stood out immediately to me is the Cheerios bird feeder where you basically take Cheerios and use a pipe cleaner. Your child strings the cereal onto it and presto, you have a bird feeder.
In my backyard, I'm not sure how long they would last because my bird population are more like flying piranha. I barely get the feeder filled and they're all up on it! I swear my hands bleed each time from their greedy pecking. Ok, I might be exaggerating slightly but I fear they would be eating my little Cheerio bird feeders faster than I could make them, and I would have to work just like Lucy and Ethel in the candy store!
