One of the first rules of composting is that you can't use your dog waste with "normal" composting because they are carnivores and there are certain pathogens that adversely affect the process.
However, I did find a really informative article that talks about how you can make it work, from Green Living Online. You can either buy a pet manure composting system like this Doggie Dooley, or you can make your own.
