Instead of going out of the country and paying high hotel costs, maybe you can swap homes with somebody from another country - and stay for free! Home Exchange lets you do just that, and the 1-year membership is about $100.
Basically, someone wants to come to your town and you want to go to theirs - you can do a search and a reverse search, which I just did, and it shows all the people's homes abroad that want to stay in Seattle for certain dates - hello Australia! It also indicates how many people their house will accommodate and how many your house needs to accommodate.
I wonder if they would want to stay at my house, you can fit lots of cars, that's a draw right?
